Hypnosis has been in widespread use for the treatment of unhealthy lifestyle habits for decades, and its usefulness is well established. It can be used for smoking cessation as a stand-alone treatment, or in combination with medications designed to reduce cravings. I work with people in either situation.
Hypnosis has also been shown to be effective in weight loss when used in combination with conventional therapies of calorie restriction and exercise. It can increase motivation, focus, and commitment to goals.
